The Holwick family had lived for several generations in Stark County, Ohio, having descended from German immigrants who settled in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania in the 1700s. Some ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War. 

According to an entry on his findagrave.com site, Private Wilfred Quayle Holwick's will deeded all of his possessions to Miss Lucille Mary Butler who married WWI veteran Lieutenant William H. Martin in 1921.
