Additional Information: Private Amos George Loveland was an only child. His mother was widowed in 1915 and lost her only child, Private Amos George Loveland, to WWI in 1918. She lived the remainder of her life in the family home at 2535 130th St. in Shaker Heights, OH along with her younger, unmarried sister and their mother.
Father: Lewis H. Loveland (1861-1915), born Ohio, long-term employment as a Railroad Engineer, died instantly at age 54 from a skull fracture sustained in a devasting Erie Railroad accident in which the engine and three cars of his milk train derailed near Warren, OH in Mahoning County; buried Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH; Mother: Phoebe Griffith Loveland (1867-1959), born Ohio of Welsh ancestry, had one child, buried Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland, OH. Mother applied for the WWI Gold Star Mothers' Pilgrimage to visit her son's grave in France, but no record was found of her travel.
