Father: Daniel John Heffron, Sr. (1863-1947), born New York of Irish ancestry, occupation Cleveland Policeman, buried Calvary Cemetery, 1000 Miles Ave., Cleveland, OH; Mother: Agnes Devine Heffron (1861-1924), born Ohio of Irish ancestry, had 7 children (2 of whom died in childhood and 1 in WWI), buried Calvary Cemetery; Siblings: Edward John Heffron (1890-1948), who died on October 11, 1948 the same month and day as his brother Private Daniel J. Heffron; Katherine Heffron (1892-1904), who died at age 12 of acute nephritis; Agnes Heffron McKitterick (1894-1973); Walter R. Heffron (1895-1927), who served in WWI as a Private, was honorably discharged on 7/24/1917 with a 10% disability, and who named one son Daniel and one son Edward Joseph**, presumably after his deceased older brother Private Daniel Joseph Heffron; William J. Heffron (1897-1972), who was a Cleveland Fireman; and Marie Heffron (1899-?), who may have died in 1902.
**Brother Walter R. Heffron's son, Edward Joseph Heffron, served as a Private in the USMC in WWII, died in 1943 at age 20 in the Pacific nation of Kiribati, and was buried in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Courts of the Missing Memorial, a tragic reminder of the death of his uncle in WWI, who was also missing in action. Edward Joseph Heffron's father died when Edward was 4 and his mother died when he was 10; he listed Sister Fides at the Parmadale Orphanage as his next of kin.
