Additional Information: WWI burial card listed beneficiary as Mrs. Maria Nicola Battaglio, mother, Campodipietra, Campobasso, Italy. Battaglio and Battaglia are very common Italian surnames, which impeded our research. Italian burial records on ancestry.com indicated that a WWI veteran Antonio Battaglia was the son of Francesco Battaglia and Nicola Maria Mapari Battaglia. No additional information was located.
