Private Charles M. Altman enlisted in January 1918 and was training with the 2nd Depot Battalion, British Columbia Regiment when he fell ill. On July 17, 1918 while undergoing an operation he died of chloroform poisoning at Camp Willow, Victoria, B.C. Private Charles Altman, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Altman, 9200 Parkgate, Cleveland, Ohio was 20 years old. Funeral from Deutsch's chapel, E. 55th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, Thursday, 2 p. m. Internment Cleveland Mayfield Cemetery.
