Knaak (1868-?), born Germany, immigrated 1880 or 1885, occupation Longshoreman in 1900 Census and Laborer Odd Jobs in 1910 Census, no additional information found about him after 1910; Mother: Justina Kinserowski Knaak (1869-1934), born Germany, immigrated 1889, per 1910 Census 7 children with 7 surviving, divorced per 1920 Census, buried Knollwood Cemetery along with several of her children, 1678 SOM Center Rd., Mayfield Heights, OH; Siblings: Carl J Knaak (1894-1926); Jacob J. Knaak (1898-1988); John M. Knaak (1900-1937); William F. Knaak (1903-1964); Anna Knaak Thompson (1904-1982); Helen Knaak Smith (1909-1999); brothers Jacob J. Knaak and Frank J. Knaak were deployed to the war in Europe on the same day and on the same ship, but only Jacob survived WWI and was honorably discharged on 4/22/1919; Jacob Knaak lived to the age of 90. The two brothers appear to have served in the same military unit during the same time period.
