This soldier was apparently reared in Pennsylvania and moved with his father to Cleveland, OH in 1917. Private John Joseph Connelly completed the draft registration in Ohio. His gravestone notes his home state as Pennsylvania.
Father: John Connelly (aka Conley) (1867-?), born England, emigrated ~1890, occupation Day Laborer, a widower in 1900 Census, first wife unknown; Step-mother: Mrs. Bridget Connelly, 1712 Braddock Ave., Swissvale, PA. Per Private John Joseph Connelly's WWI burial card, his step-mother traveled to France on 7/26/1933 aboard the SS Roosevelt to visit her step-son's grave as part of the WWI Gold Star Mothers' and Widows' Pilgrimage. A death notice recorded his survivors as one sister, two brothers and his father.
